Latest Privacy focuses on one goal, to create a reliable collection of UK privacy news. Privacy news is scattered across many different sites and sources, searching for privacy news can be a frustrating challenge. Latest Privacy solves that problem by creating a site dedicated to easily allowing users to search a collected and manually reviewed list of news.
Each article shown on LP is a small excerpt and then a link to the original full article. Articles are manually sourced, reviewed and then approved to be featured to iron out miss-leading or incorrect articles.
The project has grew over time starting with myself and Luke Seers who created the initial idea.
LP is built using Symfony, PHP 8.1, Twig & React. Around the time the project was getting started I was in the process of learning Symfony and used this as an opportunity to further my skill set. Symfony is primarily used to create a custom CMS and provide an API for our React front end.
Although news featured on the site has slowed down in recent months, we still have many ideas to improve the project and hope to implement them in due course.
